James brings an extensive history of private and public sector experience to his role as Director with Bison Modular Homes. He has found his life and career experiences to be important tools in helping his community move toward greater economic sustainability. His long history with the administration and leadership of Norway House Cree Nation has given James a perspective on his community and what it needs.
Elected as Councillor in 2018, James dedicated himself to establishing a Housing Authority for Norway House, drafting a housing authority policy to govern its operations and the management of its assets. Recently, James assumed the duties of Project Manager with the Authority at the request of community leadership.
With the establishment of Bison Modular Homes within the community in 2019, Norway House has access to an organization that further enhances the ability of the community to meet its housing needs. As a member of its Board of Directors, James helps to ensure the positive development of housing projects for Norway House as well as the region as a whole.
James recognizes the importance of establishing and fostering partnerships with governments as a nation-to-nation approach. As other communities continue to buy into what Bison Modular Homes has to offer, the organization is poised to experience significant growth while maintaining its reputation for quick response times and economical product supply.
In all, James is thankful for the faith and trust that the citizens of Norway House have placed in him for the past several years and he hopes to continue supporting the growth and economic development of his community and the wellbeing of his fellow citizens.
